BEYOND
THE VEIL

— Where Geometry Goes to Die —

"In the space between dimensions, one woman dared to look back."

Cast of the Forsaken
🌀
Mara Voss
The Anchor · Protagonist
A deep-sea cartographer who mapped the last unknown trench — and heard it map her back.
🐚
Keth'ala
Forsaken Meerfolk · Queen of Tides
Once ruler of the sunlit shallows. Now a fractured oracle who speaks in futures she can no longer see.
👁️
The Watcher-Without-Angles
Eldritch Antagonist
It does not move through space. Space moves through it. Its gaze rewrites the geometry of whatever it observes.
🪸
Threnn
Forsaken Tide-Priest · Ally
A meerfolk exile who traded his scales for secrets. His prayers bend light. His regrets bend everything else.
🌊
The Choir
Eldritch Chorus · Antagonist
A thousand drowned voices harmonising into one impossible note that unmakes whatever it touches.
A Story Told in Descending Circles
I
Act I
The Cartographer's Mistake
Mara's submersible breaches the Abyssal Fold — a trench that shouldn't exist on any chart. The walls breathe. Her instruments draw constellations instead of depth readings. Below her, something very large opens one eye.
Act II
The Forsaken Meerfolk
The shattered courts of Keth'ala — half city, half coral dreamscape — materialise around Mara. The meerfolk are fractured, their memories replaced with visions of an ending already written. Keth'ala offers an alliance: her prophecy for Mara's name.
Act III
The Parliament of Wrong Rooms
Mara and Threnn descend through architecture that defies three-dimensional space — staircases that end at their own beginnings, doors that open onto the inside of the door itself. The Choir sings louder. Reality thins.
Act IV
The Unravelling
The Watcher-Without-Angles breaches the surface world. Cities fold like paper. Coastlines remember shapes they haven't held for aeons. Mara discovers the truth: the world has been unmade before. She is not the first cartographer. She is the last.
Act V
The Map That Saves the World
Mara draws — not a map of the world as it is, but of the world as it must be. Every impossible angle, every forbidden depth becomes a sigil. The Watcher sees itself in her map. And for the first time in an eternity, something that cannot be named… blinks.
